WHAT: To get people excited about reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes for Milton Reads (which invites residents of Milton, Massachusetts to read the same book at the same time), the public library is hosting a mystery movie marathon.
SO WHAT: It might seem counter intuitive to promote reading books by watching movies. But why not? Any way of creating hype for a reading event makes it feel more like an event - and I think that's key to boosting participation.
