WHAT: The Friends of the Mesquite Public Library in Texas are running their second annual cake contest. Entrants must decorate a cake depicting a character or scene from a book, or a book itself. Click here to see last year's best in show winner.
SO WHAT: The fundraising event is a way for book lovers to express that love. It costs $5 to enter and the money goes towards the library. At the end of the contest, cakes are auctioned off to the highest/hungriest bidders.
