WHAT: A new library in Vancouver, Washington has incorporated big vinyl lettering on its central staircase to let visitors easily spot what's on each floor. Along with other design elements, this bold wayfinding solution has earned the public library an award from the Society for Experiential Graphic Design.
SO WHAT: I really like it. It's fresh, simple and clean. The branch manager, who worked with wayfinding specialists, said she tried "to make it easy for people to glance and orient themselves so they don't have to walk up to a detailed sign."
