WHAT: Organized by local cartoonists, the Rhode Island Independent Publisher Expo was hosted in the Providence Public Library. The free venue allowed young artists to meet and sell their self-published comic books and cartoons.
SO WHAT: Not only does this event support independent artists, it draws people into the library; as the program's coordinator said, "We love to see more young people." (Plus, the comic book "Life of a Cartoonist at Age 12" that was on show sounds pretty good.)
