WHAT: As part of "The Library Inside Out: Read Everywhere," the New York Public Library has set up reading tables outside of its main branch. The idea is that passer-bys can enjoy a book in the (hopefully) pleasant summer weather. They're also asking New Yorkers to tag photos of their own favourite places to read with #IReadEverywhere.
SO WHAT: More of a promotion than a service (indeed, you can sign up for a library card in the same area), it's clever how the event promotes reading in more places - and thereby reading more often - by providing a one-of-a-kind place to start.
