WHAT: To celebrate their 90th anniversary, the public library in Morton, Illinois slid about 100 "golden tickets" into their books, on page 90. Lucky readers who discover a ticket win a small prize. (Rest somewhat assured, the tickets are in some of the more popular books from the library's collection of 8,000.)
SO WHAT: This idea, as one staff member noted, is a creative solution for a small budget. I also like that the event spans an entire year, rather than something like a one-off party, which might only last hours.
